ABOUT RHINO POACHING
Rhino poaching is one of the largest poaching problems we face today, primarily in Asia. Rhinos are hunted for their horns, which can be ground and used in medicine, or made into expensive decorative gifts. They symbolize success and wealth, which is why they are in such high demand. It is believed that the entire rhino species could be extinct in just five years.
These horns gathered through illegal poaching often end up in the illegal market in Vietnam. In order to protect rhinos, rhino breeders often saw off their horns to try to keep poachers away, though this is not always successful.

Most rhinos do not survive when poachers take their horns, though there are a few lucky ones who make it out. However, these rhinos are prone to infection where their horn once was, which usually kills them as well.
